About Trip

Freedom, margaritas, Blue Ocean, blue sky, a little bit of heat. Getting lazy, don't. The trip to Maldives is not getting lazy. Wetravelsolo is coming up with a backpacking trip to Maldives. Enjoy the traditions and culture with Wetravelsolo, set off to an isolated island (there are lots of isolated islands in Maldives), catch your own fish, have a barbecue; taste the local cuisine on a trip to Maldives.

If getting under the sun and dipping your toes in sand and water is on your mind, then Maldives is a place to be. The collection of 1,192 coral islands scattered in turquoise blue water is safe to be called Island Paradise. The sky and the water are all different shades of blue with the sand so white that you would want to take of your shoes and feel the sand under your feet. Islands so green and water full of adventures, it is all you can ever ask for.

Attraction

Day 1: Around Hulhumale

What to do?

  • Land at Male, catch a ride on a ferry to Hulhumale. 20 minutes is what it takes.

  • Check in to your hostel/house.

  • Can’t stop yourself from going out and have a sunbath at a beach.

  • I know it has just been a few hours since we landed but let’s grab something to take home with us. The shops around are a perfect place to check out the culture of the place at Hulhumale.

  • The sun must be setting by now and it is time to go zooming on the bike across the sandy paths and blowing breeze.  (optional)

  • Not everything around here is natural. Think about a whole beach artificially. Well, there is one here.

Places to see:

  • Hulhumale is an artificial island which is considered to be one of the most happening places in Hulhumale. It has a beautiful artificial beach with a huge shopping area where festivities are a regular custom.

Day 2:  En route to Maafushi

Places to see:

After the exciting beginning, it is time to understand the routes and a bit of history. Let us all go to the Grand Friday Mosque. It is one of the biggest indeed.

What to do:

  • The beaches have been enjoyed and the neighbourhood explored. It is time to backpack to a different place.

  • Catch ride in a ferry again to Maafushi. This time the ride will take around an hour.

  • Maafushi will welcome you with all the blue you will be able to absorb and enjoy an   amazing mix of traditions. The city is quiet during the day but is brought back with a new fervour every night.

Day 3: Around Picnic Island Resort

What to do?

  • To reach the picnic island, it takes us around 30 minutes by ferry.

  • Get in the picnic mood because this place is a perfect place to bring out the picnic basket and play a few games under the sun.

  • It is all about swimming, taking strolls on the beach and relaxing under the sun.

Day 4: Scuba Diving

Day free for scuba diving or relax.

Day 5: Around uninhabited island

What to do:

  • How about being alienated on an island today? There are plenty of islands where no one lives. There is just the wild around.

  • Before leaving to be alone, let us all find out what locals have to say. Let us all build thrill before we set out for the big adventure.

  • We hire a boat and head off to the random island where there would be no other men and technology.

  • After reaching and exploring the wild, it is time to set the tent and sleep through the night Robinson Crusoe style.

Day 6: Island Hopping:

What to do:

  • Let us all get up today and cover the ocean with small trips hopping the islands. There are plenty!

  • While we traverse the ocean, there are a few dolphins waiting for us. If they are not shy enough, they will stop by for a little hello.

  • The Maldivian cuisine is as exquisite as its beaches. Having a taste of it is bliss.

Day 7: Fly Back to India

It is the last day and today is the day we say goodbye to the stretch of islands and white sandy beaches.

The local ferry from Mafushi to Male is one of the greatest local experiences of this place.

While you wait at the airport for the flight to take you back home, how about visiting he locals around and soaking in the last of Maldives.

Highlights

• Your all sea dreams and the dreams of white sandy beaches are going to be fulfilled on the trip to Maldives.

• The blue sea and the blue sky, Maldives gives you almost the complete platter of blue that is out there in the world.

• Hop on a cycle and paddle your way through Maldives.. The best way to see all that is around you.

• Catch your own fish and the hotels will be happy to barbeque that for you. There couldn’t be anything better than the fresh sea food.

• Dive or snorkel to find the untouched world below the sea.

• There many uninhabited islands in Maldives. Listen to the stories from the locals about the man-eating tribesmen form a few islands that are a terror to them.
